I was teenager when President Nixon was President and Trump is no President Richard M Nixon.
President Richard Nixon claimed that the Watergate was made up and his enemies were just out to get him and that he was not involved and he said "I am not a crook".
Trump has claimed all along that the Russia connection is made up and his enemies are just out to get him and he is not involved. "Comey told me 3 times I was not a target of the investigation". That is something every person familiar with FBI procedures says would be unlikely that Comey would use those words.
I am not ready to compare Trump to President Nixon.
President Nixon was smart
And, a dedicated public servant. President Nixon believed that government could be used to solve our nations problems - he created the EPA and The School Lunch Program, open the diplomatic door to China and attempted to dial back the tensions of the Cold War.
Trump is vulgar, incapable of thinking of anything our anyone but himself, emotionally immature and delusional.
And, probably stupid.
President Nixon was brought down by his self doubts, his desire to loved by the people and his need to prove that he was as good as a Kennedy. For Nixon winning was about how he could serve and be a great President. His fear of losing one more time lead to Watergate. Don't get me wrong President Nixon was not a good man but he was multiple heads and shoulders better than Trump. Nixon believed in America - Trump believes in Trump
Trump has no interest in the best interest of the country. His campaign was about his ego and nothing else. He said what he needed to say but he does not believe in this country he has no desire to help it to a better future he just wanted to be elected President.
That's it.
Trump's ego is so fragile that is does this
President Nixon's crimes were severely damaging to this country and they came after losing Korea, the cultural change brought about by Civil Rights movement, the murders of John, Martin and Bobby and Vietnam. The American people were already doubting it's institutions and his abuse of the government powers convinced people that our government was not there for us and the results of President Nixon's actions were deeply damaging to the national unity and we have never recovered.
Trump on the other hand does not care about national unity, the meaning of our institutions. He is not a democrat (note the small d), he admires dictators and as he is sitting alone in his bedroom (since the First Lady refuses to live with him) channel changing between Fox, CNN & MSNBC to see what they are saying about him he thinks about how great it would be if he did not have to deal with Congress and defer to the authority of the Judiciary. He clearly has a man crush on Putin, is effusive in support of the soon to be dictator of Turkey and invited the murderous President of the Philippines to the White House.
There is growing evidence that he, his children and in in-laws are using his position to line their pockets. Maybe by the time he is no longer living at taxpayer expense he actually will be a millionaire.
President Nixon was despicable Trump is a grifter. President Nixon served this country Trump serves himself and his extended family.
Clearly President Nixon had his demons but Congress and the courts stepped up to defend the nation from them. Trump's demons seem to be much darker, the courts have stepped up to defend the nation, the GOP controlled Congress thus far does not seem ready to defend the nation from this man. I hope they do but I have my doubts that men like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan have what it takes to do so.

I am glad he or she did.
The divine Rihanna is in great form here and she summarizes his struggles very nicely with her vocal hook.
Eminem has always been different than other rappers.... it is not all about his dick.
Granted, sometimes it is about killing his ex wife.
I am not condoning that nor his use of faggot so please do not go there with me.

The Sigal Museum in Easton
If you get a chance this week visit The Sigal Museum in downtown Easton. The 9-11 memorial flag is currently on display. It will only be there through the September 20th. I was invited to installation and have been trying to get back down to see it again. It is breathtaking and heart breaking at the same time.
It is 22' by 32' and represents all of those who lives were lost on September 11, 2001 attacks.
In fact you should just visit the Sigal Museum.
The museum tells the history of Northampton County in a very clever and honest way. It does not varnish over the fact that people who lived here before the Europeans were forcibly removed from their lands. It tells the story of the two cities, the small boroughs and the rural townships. It showcases the industry and the agricultural, the arts and the leisure, the extraordinary and the ordinary of this historic county. It celebrates the contributions the people of Northampton County have made to this country from it's founding right through to today.
I have had the opportunity (through my job) to support some of the programs and exhibits the museum has presented and I still find something new that I did not notice before as I walk through it's permanent collections.
Take a trip to lovely downtown Easton and spend some time at the Sigal it will be time well spent. When done go across the street grab a cup of coffee from Terra Cafe stroll around downtown, visit the many shops and stop in for a cocktail or more at Mesa.
The Sigal is operated by Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society.

For those of us who can't get enough about this years fascinating race for Mayor of the Capitol of The World this is an interesting read.

Not that I'm bragging or claiming a friendship because I know if I ever cross Ms. Walsh I know what to expect. And, she'll no doubt be right.

If Only Hell Existed I Would Wish Pat Robertson There
“You know what they do in San Francisco? Some in the gay community there, they want to get people. On The Bus Headed to Bethlehem
The New York Times ran a photo essay about the Chinese and Korean folks who ride the bus to Bethlehem's Sands casino . The casino and the city have had to make major adjustments because the shear volume of day trip visitors from New York's Chinese and Korean communities.

Tossed Out By A Chattanooga Congregation
The "Pastor" of Ridgedale Church of Christ in Chattanooga has ordered an entire family; mom, dad, aunt, uncle and cousins from the congregation unless the publicly renounce their own daughter, niece and cousin because she is a LESBIAN. They all committed the horrible sin of attending their family member's wedding to her female partner.
This "Pastor" is not a Christian and the people who support him are not Christians.
They are a mockery of the teaching of Jesus Christ and they are bad people. They are in for a super big surprise when they get to heaven and they see people who neither think link them nor look like them.
What if they don't make it to heaven because they are so hateful?
Where will they go? Where will they spend all of eternity?
If I believed there was a hell it would be my first suggestion but since I do not maybe they will just be stuck behind the velvet rope watching while the rest of us go through the VIP entrance to Roxy. (I may be slightly dating myself with that but so be it)

What does is say about the state of politics in Virginia if Terry McAuliffe is at almost 50% in the latest polls and he is running against the Attorney General. I'm sure Mr. McAuliffe is a decent man but nothing in his history as a businessman & Clinton fundraiser leads me to be believe he is qualified to be Governor of a state but then his opponent wants to ban oral sex and has received some questionable gifts. He is also linked to the current Governor who looks like he is on his way to jail and of course he ticket mate believes a child born with a disability was because their parents committed a sin.
On second thought Bill Clinton's "consigliere" is looking pretty good.
Let's all have a moment of silence for the people of The Commonwealth of Virginia. Hopefully they will do the same for us here in Pennsylvania as we are forced to deal with Tom Corbett's re-election

Remember a few months ago when Little Ricky Santorum announced he was going to head a movie studio? This week I read a story that a new gay porn studio will use some of it's profits to support LGBT charities. I like Ke$ha!
I know I know I know.
Say what you want but right now the child is wildly popular and she cranks out very catching tunes. Let us not forget that I am a tall, fairly thin, white, gay man of a certain age. I love dance music.
And, Ke$ha is all about the dancing and the party. Her songs are fun and the are very girl powered. Not at the deeper empowering feminist level of the amazing P!nk or the sublime Kelly Clarkson but her girls are not victims nor are they push overs.
Because Ke$ha likes and supports The Gays her tour is being picketed by members of the Westboro Baptist Church. Who are not really a church in a traditional sense but family members bonded by a sick hate.
Apparently Ke$ha and her people had grown weary of the protests and wanted to show support for a large segment of her fans (The Gays) so 3 of her back up boys decide to dance in front of the protesters before her show in Lincoln, Nebraska. The "church" members were playing their disgusting version of her song "We R who we R".

Most of my liberal friends are supporting the more liberal Bill De Blasio but think I am pulling for Ms.Quinn because it would be amazing and powerful to have the mayor of the most important city on the planet to be a lesbian. She may not be the perfect liberal but she surely is progressive but I can accept that to send the message of her election to the world.

New York Police Stop and Frisk has been found to violate the civil rights or thousands of New York citizens. This procedure needs a second look and the court did the right thing to force the city's hand.

Santorum & Cuccinelli - Joined at the Hip (or somewhere)
Like his butt buddy.... I mean political compatriot Rick Santorum, Virginia Attorney General and GOP Governor nominee Ken Cuccinelli is obsessed with sex. But, not just any sex he is obsessed with oral and anal sex.
He is so obsessed that he is encouraging judicial activism in order to control giving head and booty banging.
One has to wonder why Santorum and Cuccinelli are so obsessed with this. What happened in their lives? Why are they so concerned?
What trauma could have caused this drama?
And, why isn't the National Inquirer doing an investigation into this?
